Drive-Up Storage in Fort Oglethorpe: How It Works and Which Size to Pick

One facility at 2862 Cloud Springs Road. Pull up to the door and load.

October 2026 • Fort Oglethorpe, GA

Drive-up storage means the unit door faces the drive lane. You park a car or truck at that door, unlock it, and move items straight across instead of carrying them down an indoor hallway. At Cloud Springs Storage, 2862 Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30741, drive-up units are the main storage on the property. The phone number is (706) 406-4116.

This guide covers what that access is like, who it fits, how to load a unit, and which published size to reserve. Prices below are the drive-up rates on the pricing page. The storage unit size guide has a longer what-fits list and a size calculator.

What drive-up means here

Each drive-up door opens onto the paved lane. You use a personal gate code to enter the facility, drive to your unit, and work from the back of the vehicle. A couch, a stack of totes, or a load of job materials comes off the truck and goes into the unit in a few steps.

The facility is one mile west of I-75 at Exit 353 (Cloud Springs Road / GA-146). From the interstate, head west. The address is on the right. The same gate serves people coming from Fort Oglethorpe, Rossville, Ringgold, and the Chattanooga area. It is not a second building in those towns.

Gate access is 5:00 AM–9:00 PM daily. Office hours are Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. Sunday the office is closed. You can still use the gate on Sunday inside those gate hours. Bring your own lock, or buy one on site.

Who a drive-up unit fits

Moving and time between homes

A move rarely lines up with the day the next place is empty. Drive-up access lets you stage furniture while keys change hands. A 10×10 holds about one to two rooms. A 10×15 covers about two to three rooms. A 10×20 is the size listed for about three to four rooms or a larger household load.

Contractors and job materials

Contractors keep tools and materials in a 10×20 drive-up unit and pull right up to load. Ladders, job boxes, and leftover materials stay in one place between sites. Gate hours start at 5:00 AM, so a crew can load before the office opens. Online sellers use the same idea for seasonal stock in a 10×15 or 10×20: park at the door, swap inventory, and leave.

Vehicles and equipment kept with the unit

Drive-up units work for equipment you roll or carry a short distance: mowers, pressure washers, ladders, and tool chests. A 10×20 is also the size the facility lists for a car or small vehicle when that vehicle fits the unit. Measure before you reserve. RV and boat parking is separate. Call (706) 406-4116 to ask about it. This page does not list an RV or boat price.

Garage cleanouts and home projects

Whether you are between homes, downsizing, or clearing out a garage, a drive-up unit lets you load straight from your truck. A partial cleanout often fits a 5×5 or an 8×10. A full garage of tools, holiday bins, and sports gear usually needs a 10×10 or larger.

Loading tips

Pull straight to the door so you are not carrying boxes across the lane. Put the heaviest pieces in first, against the back wall, and leave a walking path to the door. Stack stable boxes. Use the height of the unit instead of renting a larger floor if the only problem is floor space.

Disassemble what you can. Table legs, bed frames, and shelves take less room flat than they do standing. Keep a simple list on the door or in your phone so the next visit is not a search through every box. If something is sensitive to humidity, such as papers, photos, or electronics, look at an indoor hallway unit instead of forcing it into a drive-up. Those hallway prices are on the pricing page: 5×10 for $70, 10×10 for $100, and 10×20 for $150. You walk in a door and the units are along a hallway. More on weather is in the Georgia weather storage guide.

Plan the visit inside gate hours, 5:00 AM–9:00 PM daily. If you need the office for a lock, a question, or move-in paperwork, come Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or Saturday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Which size to pick

These are the drive-up sizes and monthly prices at this facility. Square footage is length times width. Ceiling height is not published here, so measure tall items before you count on stacking them to a specific height.

  • 5×5, 25 sq ft, $40/month. Boxes, seasonal decorations, a few small furniture pieces, and file boxes. A closet-sized cleanout.
  • 8×10, 80 sq ft, $60/month. About one room. Bedroom furniture plus boxes, or a partial garage cleanout.
  • 10×10, 100 sq ft, $65/month. About one to two rooms. A common size for a move, a furniture set, or a motorcycle or ATV plus boxes.
  • 10×15, 150 sq ft, $75/month. About two to three rooms. Furniture during a move, or seasonal stock for an online seller.
  • 10×20, 200 sq ft, $105/month. About three to four rooms, a larger household, or a contractor load of tools and materials. Also the size listed for a car or small vehicle when it fits.
  • 8×20 container, 160 sq ft, $105/month. A longer container-style unit at the same monthly price as the 10×20. Useful for ladders, long materials, and items that need depth more than width.

If you are between two sizes, the smaller one is cheaper only when everything actually fits and you can still reach the door. The size guide walks through the same list with packing notes. Drive-up units from $40/month. Call for current move-in specials.
